Yangadlitya Indigenous Corporation Riverland is based in Berri and administers a range of services to provide a complete Social and Emotional Wellbeing pathway for our community.
Our programs aim to improve the health status of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through the delivery of effective, holistic, culturally appropriate & safe drug and alcohol interventions.
This is achieved by providing a range of alcohol & other drugs and social & emotional wellbeing supports to meet the needs of community and to improve client access to drug and alcohol treatment, mental health and youth support.

Youth Alcohol & Drug Support
The Youth Worker – AOD program delivers prevention and early intervention support to reduce the impact of substance misuse for Young people 12-25 years of age with substance misuse concerns and/or parents & caregivers with substance misuse concerns.

Drug and alcohol referral, advocacy and case management
Community and family based drug and alcohol interventions
Work with families and the community to improve outcomes for individuals and families experiencing AOD issues
Mental Health
Aboriginal Mental Health contributes to the conveyance of culturally appropriate & safe targeted programs and supports with the aim of promoting positive mental health and social and emotional well-being for Aboriginal community members. This includes:

A stepped care approach promotes person centred care which targets the needs of the individual

Psychology
Yangadlitya works alongside registered Aboriginal Psychologist Kym Schellen. He visits the Riverland office on a fortnightly basis to provide culturally responsive psychological service to the Riverland Aboriginal community. To access this service, clients will need a Mental Health Care Plan completed by their GP. Priority is given to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, with a focus on supporting social and emotional wellbeing in culturally safe appropriate environment.
